Geweldige resultaten van het Windsurfing4you team op het IFCA WK Slalom in Torbole, Italië
Windsurfing4you teamriders Jordy Vonk (NED-69) en Lars van Someren (NED-800) hebben beide de tweede plaats behaald op het WK Slalom jeugd in Torbole, Italië. In een ijzersterk deelnemersveld eindigde zowel Jordy als Lars met gelijk aantal punten op de eerste plaats in het U-20 en het U-15 klassement. De onderlinge resultaten in de allerlaatste eliminatie op het Gardameer gaven daarom de doorslag en resulteerden in twee fraaie tweede plaatsen op het wereldpodium.
Maar zo dicht bij de wereldtitel! En geen verschil in punten met de nummer 1! En de laatste 3e eliminatie halverwege afgeblazen wegens gebrek aan wind. Als echte topsporters die gaan voor goud, overheerste bij beide riders aanvankelijk daarom de teleurstelling over het missen van de wereldtitels. Maar al snel konden de twee vice-wereldkampioenen uit het Windsurfing4you team op sportieve wijze de winnaars feliciteren en met trots genieten van hun eigen prestaties! Dat is de sportiviteit die het windsurfen kenmerkt. Hard op het water, vrienden aan de kant.
De intensieve training en het talent van Jordy en Lars, zijn in combinatie met de Patrik Diethelm boards en Loft Sails een grote belofte voor de toekomst. Windsurfing4you, PD en Loft zijn trots om twee vice- wereldkampioen slalomkanonnen in het team te hebben en zullen waar mogelijk blijven bijdragen aan jullie verdere ontwikkeling. Of zoals IFCA president Bruno De Wannemaeker verwoorde bij de prijsuitreiking: “Van iedere jeugdsurfer die hier vandaag bij Circolo Surf Torbole op het WK podium staat, gaan we ongetwijfeld nog veel meer horen!”

Extraordinary results of Windsurfing4you team at the IFCA Worldchampionships Slalom in Torbole, Italy.
Windsurfing4you teamriders Jordy Vonk (NED-69) and Lars van Someren (NED-800) both finished second in their categories U-20 and U-15 respectively, at the the IFCA World Championships Slalom in Torbole, Italy. In a very strong field both riders were tied first place on points with their main competitors. Equal points meant that the results of the last elimination on Lake Garda were used as tie-breaker, resulting in in two excellent second places on the Slalom Worlds.
But so close to become World Champion! And no difference in points with the no. 1.! And the decisive 3rd elimination cancelled half way due to diminishing winds! As true athletes sailing for gold, no wonder they initially felt the disappointment of missing the title. But soon after both vice World Champions were able to congratulate the winners in a sportive manner and receive many congratulations on their own superb performance by finishing 2nd in the Worlds. A great display of true sportsmanship which is so part of the windsurfing sport. Tough on the water, friends ashore.
The intense training and the great talents of both Jordy and Lars are a very strong combination with Patrik Diethelm boards and Loft Sails. Both riders are a looking at a promising windsurfing career. Windsurfing4you, PD and Loft are very proud to have two vice-world champions in their team and will support your further developments wherever possible. Or by the words of IFCA President Mr. Bruno De Wannemaeker at the prize giving ceremony: “From all juniors and youth on the Worlds Podium today here at Circolo Surf Torbole, we will hear a great deal more in the future. “
